The Georgia Promise Scholarship is Georgia’s education savings account (ESA) program, run by the Georgia Education Savings Authority (GESA) with Odyssey as program manager. For the 2026-27 school year it provides up to $6,500 per eligible student, paid in four quarterly payments of $1,625; GESA may withhold up to 5% for administration. It is a general scholarship with no disability tier, and families must leave public school to use it. Pick the question you have below.

Special Ed Resource is an approved provider in the Georgia Promise Scholarship Odyssey Marketplace. We are not affiliated with the Georgia Education Savings Authority, the Georgia Student Finance Commission, Odyssey or the State of Georgia. Promise applications go through the program’s own website, mygeorgiapromise.org.

Lawsuit status: In August 2026, families filed a lawsuit in DeKalb County Superior Court (Sands v. Green) challenging the rule that students must first attend public school, according to the families’ lawyers and news reports. As of October 2, 2026, we have found no report of a ruling, and the program is operating for the 2026-27 school year. About the lawsuit.
