Quick answer

For applications, logins, award status, opt-ins and Marketplace orders, contact the program’s support team, listed on mygeorgiapromise.org as the “Odyssey Support Team”: call 470-470-7057 or use the help email below. Appeals have their own email address. The official program website is mygeorgiapromise.org, where families apply and sign in through Odyssey. For IEP questions, start with your school district, a Georgia Parent Mentor or Parent to Parent of Georgia. This site is not the program, and we can’t see or change accounts.

Your account questions belong with the program. Tutoring questions can come to us.

If you’re thinking about tutoring for a child who learns differently, a free consultation is a relaxed way to talk through your child’s needs with our team.

Lawsuit status: In August 2026, families filed a lawsuit in DeKalb County Superior Court (Sands v. Green) challenging the rule that students must first attend public school, according to the families’ lawyers and news reports. As of October 2, 2026, we have found no report of a ruling, and the program is operating for the 2026-27 school year. About the lawsuit.

1. The program’s support team: phone and email

The Georgia Promise Scholarship is run by the Georgia Education Savings Authority (GESA), and Odyssey is the program manager GESA contracts with. The program’s homepage lists a support contact for families under the heading “Odyssey Support Team.” Questions about applying, your child’s status, signing in, opt-ins, your balance or Marketplace orders go there.

These contacts are from the program homepage as we checked it on October 2, 2026. We don’t list support hours here, so check the homepage for any changes before you call or write.

Logging in. Your child’s Promise account lives on Odyssey’s platform, and the family login is reached from mygeorgiapromise.org. If you can’t get in, contact the support team above. This site has no login, and because we can’t access accounts, we never need your sign-in details. Don’t share them with any provider.

Applying. The last family window for the 2026-27 school year is November 1–30, 2026, and GESA must publish next year’s application periods by December 15, 2026. Our application and deadlines guide covers the steps.

3. Who runs what: GESA, GSFC and Odyssey

OrganizationIts role in Georgia Promise
Georgia Education Savings Authority (GESA)Runs the program, sets its regulations and publishes the application periods. By law, GESA is assigned to the Georgia Student Finance Commission “for administrative purposes only.”
Georgia Student Finance Commission (GSFC)GESA is its “companion entity.” The GSFC, GSFA and GESA boards meet “quarterly in February, May, August, and November.”
OdysseyGESA’s program manager: the application portal, family accounts, the Odyssey Marketplace, provider payments and the help center
Governor’s Office of Student Achievement (GOSA)Publishes the list of schools in the lowest 25 percent by December 1 each year. GOSA’s old web address now redirects to goews.georgia.gov.
Georgia Professional Standards Commission (GaPSC)Issues the Georgia teaching certificates that Promise tutors must hold

GESA’s address on its program documents is 2082 East Exchange Place, Tucker, GA 30084. For family questions, the support team in section 1 is the place to start. Board meeting information is on the GSFC board meetings page.

4. Who handles what

One rule surprises some families: for Marketplace orders, Odyssey’s rules say invoices and transaction documents are not shared between providers and families. Questions about an order’s payment go to the program’s support team.

5. Appeals

If your child is found ineligible, the regulations set two deadlines:

  • start the appeal within 60 calendar days after the application window closes; and
  • submit supporting documents within 30 calendar days of the written notice of the reason. GESA’s timeline describes this as “within 30 days of receiving notice of the student’s ineligibility reason and the appeals link.”

The program’s requirements and the law itself can’t be appealed, so an appeal is for showing that your child does meet them. The appeals address listed on the homepage is help.ga@withodyssey.com.

6. IEP and special education questions

The Promise program manages the scholarship; it doesn’t decide IEP questions. Georgia Code § 20-2B-22(e) says a participating student’s resident school system “shall not be obligated to provide services to such student that would be required if such student were enrolled in such school system unless the student reenrolls in the resident school system.” For questions about your own child:

Dispute optionWhat the Georgia Department of Education says
Facilitated IEP meeting“an optional process”; the request should reach GaDOE “at least 7-10 days before” the meeting; a facilitator is provided “at no cost to the parent or district”
MediationVoluntary; the State bears the cost; agreements are legally binding
State complaintMust concern a violation within the past year; GaDOE acts within 60 calendar days of receiving it
Due process hearingRequest within two years of when the parent knew or should have known; hearings are conducted by the Office of State Administrative Hearings

See GaDOE’s dispute resolution page for the forms. Our guide to Georgia Promise and your child’s IEP explains what the Promise law says about services.

7. Other Georgia programs and agencies

  • Georgia Special Needs Scholarship. Run by the Georgia Department of Education, not by GESA or Odyssey. See GaDOE’s scholarship page. A Promise student may not receive this scholarship or seek it while in the Promise program.
  • Student scholarship organization (SSO) scholarships. GaDOE publishes the list of approved organizations and says to “Contact the SSO directly.” A Promise student may not receive a scholarship or other benefit from an SSO.
  • Homeschool Declaration of Intent. Filed with the Georgia Department of Education, within 30 days after a home study program starts and by September 1 each year after that. You can file it online; see GaDOE’s home school page. It is a separate step from the Promise application.
  • Teacher certificates. The Georgia Professional Standards Commission issues them.

Our Georgia scholarships comparison sets these programs side by side.

8. About this site: what we can and can’t do

Georgia Special Ed Tutoring is a Special Ed Resource website. Special Ed Resource is an approved provider in the Georgia Promise Scholarship Odyssey Marketplace. We are not affiliated with the Georgia Education Savings Authority, the Georgia Student Finance Commission, Odyssey or the State of Georgia, and we don’t speak for the program.

That means we can’t apply for you, log in to your account, see your balance, check an application, handle an appeal, approve a purchase or process a refund. The program’s support team handles all of those. What we can do is explain the public rules in plain language in our guides, and talk with you about tutoring. Our teachers, certified in special education, provide one-to-one online academic tutoring for Georgia children who learn differently. Before you order, book a free consultation or call us at (844) 773-3822, and we’ll tell you which of our offerings fits your child and exactly what to look for in the Odyssey Marketplace’s tutoring categories.

Talk it through with our team

A free consultation: tell us about your child, ask your Georgia Promise questions, and hear how our teachers, who are certified in special education, would approach tutoring. No commitment.

Frequently asked questions

What is the Georgia Promise Scholarship phone number?

470-470-7057. The program’s homepage, mygeorgiapromise.org, lists that number with the help email under the heading “Odyssey Support Team.” Odyssey is the program manager the Georgia Education Savings Authority (GESA) contracts with, so this team handles application, account and Marketplace questions.

How do I log in to my Georgia Promise Scholarship account?

The family login is reached from mygeorgiapromise.org and runs on Odyssey’s platform. If you can’t sign in, call the program’s support team at 470-470-7057 or use the help email listed on the homepage. This site has no login and cannot access Promise accounts.

What is the official Georgia Promise Scholarship website?

mygeorgiapromise.org, which families sometimes search for as “My Georgia Promise.” It has the application and login links, the handbooks, the regulations and the school list. The Georgia Student Finance Commission also has a Georgia Promise Scholarship page, and Odyssey runs a Georgia help center.

Who runs the Georgia Promise Scholarship?

The Georgia Education Savings Authority (GESA), a companion entity to the Georgia Student Finance Commission (GSFC). Odyssey is GESA’s program manager: families apply, opt in and spend in Odyssey’s portal and Marketplace. Special Ed Resource is an approved provider in the Marketplace, not part of the program.

How do I appeal a Georgia Promise Scholarship decision?

Under the regulations, an appeal must be started within 60 calendar days after the application window closes, and documents are due within 30 calendar days of the written notice of the reason. The program homepage lists a separate appeals email, shown on this page. The program’s requirements and the law itself can’t be appealed.

Can you check my Georgia Promise application or balance?

No. Special Ed Resource is not GESA, the Georgia Student Finance Commission, Odyssey or the State of Georgia. We can’t see or change any account, check an application, handle an appeal, approve a purchase or process a refund. The program’s support team handles all of those.

Who can answer questions about my child’s IEP?

Start with your school district’s special education office. A Georgia Parent Mentor or Parent to Parent of Georgia, the state’s Parent Training and Information center, can help you prepare. The Georgia Department of Education explains dispute options: facilitated IEP meetings, mediation, state complaints and due process hearings.

Where do tutors apply to become Georgia Promise providers?

In Odyssey’s vendor portal, where service providers and vendors can apply year-round. Tutors must hold an active certificate from the Georgia Professional Standards Commission (GaPSC) and may only offer the subjects and grade levels on it.
